About us

Hope Academy of Bishkek (HAB)

The school was started as a parent cooperative in 1998 with 10 students.  Since then, it has grown to include three buildings with 14 classrooms, a computer lab, a science lab, two art rooms, an assembly hall, a 17,600-volume library, administrative offices, a playground, and a sports field. The school now includes 164 students from 18 countries, organized in an Elementary School (Kindergarten – Grade 5) and Secondary School (Middle School: Grades 6-8, High School: Grades 9-12).

Approximately 70% of the students speak a language other than English at home.  These students are served by 32 teachers,  2 counselors, and 18 support staff, representing 10 countries. Parents cooperate closely with the staff to develop and deliver our programs in ways that reflect our core values of each person, diversity, cooperation, growth, and transformation.  Rigorous academic life is punctuated by weekly assemblies, frequent celebrations, and student-initiated special events.
